New Members

Hello everyone!

 

We personally want to welcome new members to the Buchanan County Band program. As we approach another exciting year, we are eagerly looking forward to a year filled with learning and growth as well as opportunities and experiences for the students!

            Coming into the new academic year, we are holding very high standards for the students and the program as a whole. It is no doubt that the band will require more year-round time from students than other school activities/functions. It is also true that few, if any, student activities are more richly rewarding in terms of fellowship, healthful recreation, and the personal gratification that comes from performing music literature before appreciative audiences along with the frequent opportunities to serve our schools and community. The band program is voluntary but once you volunteer, it then becomes obligatory!

            In order to uphold the standards of this program, each and every member must take initiative to the commitment that is required in this band organization. We expect all members to strive for greatness rather than perfection. It is important that we, as an ensemble, set personal goals for ourselves to push our limits to new heights to achieve excellence and precision in our craft. If you are willing to put in the work hard, effort, determination, and sacrifice, you will accomplish more than you can imagine, all it takes is putting your best foot forward.

            As your band directors, we promise to uphold these standards and expectations. We also promise to demonstrate the same amount of work, respect, and sacrifice that I expect from each individual member. Furthermore, we expect that each student will adhere to the policies contained in this handbook.

            This season will be filled with countless opportunities for students, so it is important to have a focused mindset on improvement and growth. I am looking forward to the upcoming season ahead!
