BCB Uniforms

BCB Uniform.jpg

After the consolidation, the band was in dire need of new uniforms to represent their county band. The idea for the new uniforms was to take colors that represented both school systems and put them together to show how two rival schools came together as one: black for Twin Valley and gold for Grundy. Before the new uniforms, the students wore black polos, khakis pants and marching shoes until the new uniforms arrived. Today, our new uniforms are awaiting for the next marching season to be worn. The Buchanan County Band would like to give a special thanks to Kathy Lippo for all of her hard work that went into making our brand new uniforms!

Why Music Matters- Dr. Jack Stamp

It is of the utmost importance to keep music education alive within our small, rural community. The arts is a dying subject, specifically music. Dr. Jack Stamp, Professor of Music and Director of Band Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), conductor and composer, shares the importance of a music education when compared to other subject areas and sports. Music is a vital subject that is commonly neglected and it is our duty to keep the area of music alive and thriving!
